​My favorite activity was being able to teach an english class and help the kids with any homework they had. it was so interesting because at one point after we had taught them some english, they started to teach us spanish.

I LOVED EVERYTHING about this trip and volunteering. I don’t even know how to pick. I loved going to the stores to get supplies for the Materna kits, going to the beach, going to mama Carmens house, riding the ATVs, going to the health clinics to see all the moms and teach them about the kits, the boat ride to the hot springs, truly it was all so great.

Something I love about Materna and was so evident on this trip was the personal care they give to each family that is in need. We gave everything from Materna Kits, food supplies, and baby blankets to wheelchairs and lifesaving medical care and supplies. Every interaction we had was so humbling and touching. I also had a lot of fun sightseeing around El Salvador with the other volunteers on this trip!

 There are so many ways to become involved with Materna Foundation. We are always looking for "virtual" volunteers and individuals that would like to help with local events in Arizona and Utah!
We also have volunteer trips to Central America coming up in December 2024 and Summer of 2025.
